One of our biggest outgoings is food. Prices are high and it is after all an unavoidable expense. Although buying food is something everyone has to do, there ways of doing it cheaply and saving money.

As our lives only get busier, itís no wonder that we spend more on convenient options which save us time, but these often have elevated prices. Here are some tips to cut down on the amount you spend on food and still feed you and your family well.

1.  The most effective way to reduce the amount of money you spend on food is to shop in a large supermarket as the prices will be lower.

2. Plan your meals and cook at home as much as you can instead of eating in restaurants, getting take out and buying readymade meals.

3. Take a packed lunch to work with you! Youíll be amazed by how much you save.
